New Art Collections Unleashed at Vermont Open Studio Tour Weekend

What a great weekend, connecting with so many of you as you toured art studios all over the state, or at least our town! I was so happy to be part of my first Vermont Open Studio weekend.

My favorite part was seeing your faces when you saw my new collections ~

GroBoxes :: a mailbox for your gardener

These are hand-painted mailboxes I paint so you can have a handy home for your garden gloves, clippers, seed packets, and whatnot, to put them right in your garden, so you always know where they are, and so you can always find them. You pop the painted GroBox in your garden, pop your handy tools in them at the end of the day, they stay dry and protected, and you get the painted blooms all year long!

GroBoxes come in different sizes, colors, and designs

Candle Greeting Cards

Candles are so soothing in any home. I found myself painting candles this fall, and I couldn't stop. One candle, two candles, three candles, four. Then a string of them. Then a row of them, with their colors bleeding into each other.

Whether to celebrate a birthday or remember a loved one, a candle always gives a moment to pause and remember the light.

Dandelions, Foxes, Lions, Oh My

Who doesn't love a fox? And the promise of spring held by a dandelion?

Affordable art doesn't hurt either, painted on watercolor paper and ready to frame at home.

Paintings on 90# watercolor paper, 9"x12"

Jam Jar Greeting Cards

Is it just Vermonters? Or do you love jam jars, too? I can't stop painting them, because I can't resist the charm of fruit plus the fresh colors.

A great way to say, I love you, with a cozy warmth.

Painted Lightswitches

This event was the unleashing of my new hand-painted lightswitches, each one an original artwork of a meadow of poppies, on a high-quality plastic electric light switchplate.

Abstract wildflowers suggesting poppies in shades of red, with green meadow and hillsides, blue or coral skies.

Earrings

Colorful earrings with sterling silver and gold fill ear wires, that I make with Swarovski crystals, mother of pearl, carnelian, Czech glass, and many other beautiful stones.

Thank you to JAM!

And and extra special thank you to JAM in White River Junction, Vermont, formerly Community Access TV, is a non-profit community media connecting the Upper Valley. We are so grateful they invited Rick Russell to come to all five of the artists' studios in our town and record our thoughts about the Open Studio, and about our art.

This is the segment Rick put together, a delightful presentation about the five of us :: Shannon Wallis, Rosemary Orgren, Kate Emlen, Rosamond Orford, and me, and I hope you enjoy it.
